Office Administration:
All Beyond Basics staff participate in ongoing continuing education in their specialties. All Beyond Basics physical therapists are licensed in the State of New York and hold a master's degree in physical therapy with specialized training in pelvic floor dysfunction, women's health care, and orthopedic injuries. In addition, all physical therapists have extensive training in manual therapy.
Amy Stein, MPT, BCIA-PMDB received her B.A. from Washington University in St Louis, Missouri. She received her master's in physical therapy (MPT) from Nova Southeastern University. She has been working with orthopedic, pelvic floor dysfunction and women's health for many years. Amy is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Women's Health Section, New York Physical Therapy Association (NYPTA), Interstitial Cystitis Association, Endometriosis Association, National Vulvodynia Association, The Women's Sexual Health Foundation, and the International Pelvic Pain Society. Her interests include spending time with family and friends, skiing, snowboarding, rock climbing, roller blading, hiking, biking, camping, fishing, tennis, laughing, relaxing and of course helping others. Amy is fluent in Spanish. Amy set out to create a new type of practice which would take a holistic approach to the patient's entire well being. She envisioned various professions working together to improve the patient's quality of life. In 2003, this vision became Beyond Basics Physical Therapy, LLC. BCIA Congratulates Amy Stein Wood on Receiving Biofeedback Certification Wheat Ridge, CO - The Biofeedback Certification Institute of America (BCIA) is pleased to announce that Amy Stein Wood, MPT has become certified in Pelvic Muscle Dysfunction Biofeedback. Amy joins an elite group of professionals who have met the education, clinical and exam criteria required in order to become a certified provider of pelvic muscle dysfunction biofeedback services to treat elimination disorders and pelvic pain syndromes. Amy Stein Wood, MPT has a practice that provides services to men, women and children suffering from pelvic floor dysfunction, pelvic pain, bowel disorders (including irritable bowel syndrome, constipation, etc) and incontinence. Amy has had wonderful success in treating pelvic floor dysfunction and utilizing biofeedback for over 7 years. Certification demonstrates professionalism and adherence to carefully developed standards as a health care provider. Procedures are consistent with the Department of Health & Human Services Guidelines, giving credibility and evidence that practitioners maintain knowledge and skill levels. Health care professionals who achieve BCIA Certification demonstrate commitment to professionalism by completing basic degree and educational requirements, learning to apply clinical biofeedback skills during mentorship, and passing a written examination. The Biofeedback Certification Institute of America (BCIA) is the only institute recognized worldwide granting certification to biofeedback practitioners. BCIA was established in 1981 with the mission of protecting the general public by establishing strict standards for biofeedback practitioners. Currently, more than 1,500 health care professionals have achieved certification in general, EEG, or pelvic muscle dysfunction biofeedback. Many clinicians have more than one certification. Roseanne Cruz, DPT, received her B.S. and her doctoral (DPT) degree from New York University. Before joining Beyond Basics Physical Therapy, Roseanne worked with patients who were diagnosed with various neurological and orthopedic issues such as traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, strokes, total joint replacements, and low back pain. Roseanne has been interested in working with patients with pelvic pain, pelvic floor dysfunction, and lymphedema for many years and has spoken in the Greater New York area on these topics. Roseanne is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association Women's Health and Oncology Sections, New York Physical Therapy Association (NYPTA), National Vulvodynia Association, the International Pelvic Pain Society, and the National Lymphedema Network. Her hobbies include reading, knitting, running, kickboxing, salsa dancing, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family.
Nazneen Vasi, MHS PT, received her BPT degree from College of Allied Health Sciences in Manipal, South India and her MHS PT degree from Krannert School of Physical Therapy, Indianapolis. Before joining Beyond Basics Physical Therapy, she worked with patients diagnosed with various neurological and orthopedic issues such as traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, strokes, back and neck pain, and other joint and muscle dysfunctions. She received training and worked with patients with pelvic floor dysfunction and other women’s health issues including prenatal and postpartum conditions, in India and in the USA. Moreover, she has extensive training in manual therapy. Her hobbies include skating, swimming, snorkeling, traveling, learning languages and learning about different cultures.
Stacey Futterman, PT, MPT, BCIA-PMDB certified, received her Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from Nova Southeastern University in South Florida in 1996. After graduation she relocated to Chicago where she began specializing in women's and men's health issues including the treatment of orthopedic and sports medicine, incontinence, pelvic pain and prenatal/postpartum musculoskeletal issues. Her current treatment approach not only uses physical therapy to treat pelvic and chronic pain conditions, but incorporates yoga, nutrition and psychotherapy in the overall treatment approach. She has been featured on CBS New York and has presented for the APTA National Conference 2007 for the treatment of male pelvic pain. Stacey is currently teaching for the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehab Institute which provides a comprehensive, evidence-based, continuing education for the rehabilitation of the pelvic floor and pelvic girdle dysfunction.
